Privacy Policy

Founders Connect ("we", "us") is a mobile app for solo founders to discover co‑founders, share build updates, join communities, and chat. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have over your data.

• Account info — email address, display name, handle, profile photo URL, bio, skills, the stage of what you're building, and what you're looking for (co‑founder, networking, investors).
• Content you post — posts, comments, poll votes, reactions, group memberships, journal entries (private to you), chat messages, and photos you attach.
• Connections — founders you spark, skip, follow, bookmark or block; chat threads you participate in.
• Device data — Firebase Installation ID, OS version, crash diagnostics, and basic analytics events (screen views, taps on core actions). We do not collect precise location.

• To run the core service: show your profile to other founders, deliver messages, rank posts, recommend matches.
• To send transactional notifications (new connection requests, new messages). You can turn these off in your OS settings.
• To keep the platform safe: investigate reports, enforce our Terms of Service, and prevent abuse.
• To improve the product through aggregated analytics. We do not sell your personal data.

We share data only with the processors that power the app:

• Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Storage, Cloud Functions, Analytics, Crashlytics) — hosts your account, content, and analytics.
• Apple / Google sign‑in — used only if you choose that option; we receive your email and display name.

We disclose data to comply with a lawful legal request, or to protect the rights, safety and property of Founders Connect, our users, or the public.

• Access & export — request a copy of your data by emailing privacy@founderhq.app.
• Edit — tap your profile to change your name, handle, bio, skills, photos and what you're looking for.
• Delete — tap Settings → Delete account. We remove your profile, posts, comments, journals, sparks, messages, and uploaded photos from our active systems within 30 days. Backups are purged on a rolling 90‑day cycle.
• Block — tap the menu on any founder to block them; blocked users cannot see your profile or contact you.
• Withdraw consent — sign out at any time.

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, content is removed within 30 days. Anonymous analytics (event counts, crash traces) are retained for up to 14 months.

Founders Connect is intended for users 16 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a minor has signed up, please email privacy@founderhq.app and we will delete the account.

Our data is processed on Google Cloud infrastructure. By using the app you consent to this processing.

If we materially change this policy we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in‑app.
